"Astrid reads about comedy as a political weapon and declares the collective must develop a satirical variety show to radicalize Brooklyn audiences. Moxie immediately books herself as headliner and sole talent booker. Their first open mic attracts three people: Moxie's sound guy, a man who thought it was a real estate seminar, and Astrid's therapist taking field notes. The show collapses when Astrid's 22-minute opening monologue about Foucault gets zero laughs and Moxie's DJ-comedy hybrid set is just her playing records while reading Astrid's Substack posts in a mocking voice."
